Angel 3D Puppet Animation Motion Graphics

Basic 3D "Butterfly wing flap" style puppet animation motion graphics in Adobe After Effects CC 2018.

I made this for an independent film "The Holy Maple Tree" for a fake TV station in the film called "Heaven& Hell TV".

I drew heavily form my Art History and utilized a lot of cheap design styles when coming up with the design of the angelic being figure. It's completely uni-sex, and has slits for eyes and facial features, tricking the viewer into seeing things which aren't even their. Its a very common cheap design trick frequently used in Asia.

I also used mostly basic geometry and lines, with simple gestures and minimal details. This tricks the eyes & brain of the viewer into seeing hands, arms, and clothes, when it's just lines. Very little talent involved, and LOTS of trickery & illusion. This was to cut down on time. It still took quite a significant of time to make tho'. The only part that took the most skill ability were the wings, and those are still simplified, somewhat.
